Knowledge Job Forum Holds Policy Forum on 'Management and Support of the Royal Korean Culture and Digital Restoration Measures'
[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] The Knowledge Job Forum announced on the 24th that it held a policy forum on ‘Establishing the Identity of History and Traditional Culture’ at the Daehan Royal Culture Center and the Irum Center in Yeouido, Seoul.
Under the theme of ‘Management and Support of Daehan Royal Culture and Digital Restoration Measures,’ this academic conference was attended by various experts from engineering, humanities, and law to establish the identity of history and traditional culture and to research digital restoration. The event began with opening remarks by Park Jung, a floor leader of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism from the Democratic Party of Korea, and Lee Dal-gon from the People Power Party, followed by a welcome address by Lee Won, President of the Daehan Royal Culture Center, and congratulatory speeches by Lee Nak-yeon, Democratic Party member, Chung Sye-kyun, Senior Advisor of the Democratic Party, and Lee Won-wook, Chairman of the Science, Technology, Information and Communications Committee and Democratic Party member.
The keynote presentations of this policy forum included: ▲ ‘Digital New Deal: Proposal for AI Digital Restoration of Joseon Dynasty Royal Portraits’ by Jin-ho Park, a cultural heritage digital restoration expert; ▲ ‘The Necessity of Establishing a Second Intellectual Property Rights Domain for the Protection and Transmission of Traditional Culture and Overseas Legislative Cases’ by Pil-ho Park, former Director of the UNESCO Central Asia International Academic Research Institute; ▲ ‘For the Establishment of the Succession Consciousness between the Korean Empire and the Republic of Korea’ by Tae-jin Lee, Professor Emeritus at Seoul National University and former Chairman of the National History Compilation Committee; ▲ and ‘Current Status and Suggestions for Building Digital Content at the National Gugak Center’s Gugak Museum’ by In-hwa Seo, Head of the Gugak Research Office at the National Gugak Center.
At the forum, Lee Won, President of the Daehan Royal Culture Center, emphasized in his welcome address that “In the era of digital transformation, management, support, and digital restoration measures for Daehan Royal Culture are important to realize a global cultural powerhouse.”
Democratic Party member Lee Nak-yeon said in his congratulatory speech, “We are facing the challenge of utilizing data and artificial intelligence and forming a new digital economy in the era of digital transformation,” adding, “To lead the global digital economy, one approach could be the management, support, and digital restoration of Daehan Royal Culture, including strategies such as the metaverse.”
Senior Advisor Chung Sye-kyun of the Democratic Party also stated, “It is meaningful to hold this policy forum under the theme of establishing the identity of history and traditional culture?management, support, and digital restoration of Daehan Royal Culture,” and added, “This policy forum will be a valuable time for diverse and in-depth discussions.”
Son Seung-woo, Chairman of the Knowledge Job Forum, who oversaw the policy forum, said, “I hope this policy forum will be a good opportunity to design the future of intellectual property utilization and digital technology,” and added, “In this era of digital transformation, I expect it to contribute to national development by inspecting the overall management and operation status of Daehan Royal traditional cultural heritage within the Hanyangdoseong and seeking improvement and support measures accordingly.”
