President Moon's Luncheon Inviting Veterans' Families... Cheong Wa Dae Honors with State-Level Protocol

[Asia Economy Reporter Ryu Jeong-min] President Moon Jae-in invited 50 national veterans and their families to the Blue House for a luncheon to express his gratitude. In particular, the Blue House honored the veterans and their families with state-level protocol.
The Blue House announced that about 70 people, including President Moon Jae-in and the First Lady, members of 16 veterans' organizations, bereaved families of West Sea defense soldiers, exemplary national veterans award recipients, and government officials such as the Commissioner of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, attended the luncheon held at the State Guest House at 11:45 a.m. on the 24th.
Especially, the Blue House emphasized, "Hyundai Motor Company provided hydrogen and electric vehicles developed with its own technology to transport the luncheon attendees from the War Memorial, their gathering place, to the Blue House State Guest House, offering state-level protocol (signal light clearance, escort by the Presidential Security Service and police)."
In front of the Blue House State Guest House, the traditional military band of the Ministry of National Defense performed, and Suh Hoon, Director of the National Security Office, and Hwang Ki-chul, Commissioner of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, personally welcomed the attendees, conveying respect and gratitude.
Yu Eul-sang, Chairman of the Korea Disabled Veterans Organization, representing the attendees, said, "We deeply appreciate the President inviting and encouraging veterans' families despite his busy schedule managing state affairs, and veterans' organizations will continue to do their best for the advancement and development of the Republic of Korea."
Meanwhile, among the exemplary national veterans award recipients who were previously honored by the Prime Minister, President Moon personally presented awards to some (4 out of 32), elevating the level of honor.

The Blue House explained, "After remarks by Lee Sang-woo, recipient of the 2019 National Order of Merit, and Kim Gil-rae, recipient of the 2021 National Medal, a trumpet performance was given by Gwak Da-kyung, a descendant of a Korean War veteran, followed by a congratulatory performance by trot singer Song Ga-in," adding, "the Director of the National Security Office and the Commissioner of the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs personally saw off the attendees on their way home."
