[Asia Economy Reporter Yu Je-hoon] According to the quarantine authorities and local governments on the 19th, a total of 352 new confirmed cases tested positive for COVID-19 from 0:00 to 6:00 PM on the same day. This is 54 fewer cases than the 406 confirmed cases at the same time the previous day.
By region, Seoul reported 145 cases, Gyeonggi 101 cases, and Incheon 18 cases, with the metropolitan area totaling 264 cases (75.0%). Non-metropolitan areas reported 20 cases in Busan, 13 in Daegu, 11 in Gangwon and Gyeongnam, 10 in Chungnam, 6 in Gyeongbuk, 4 in Ulsan, 3 each in Daejeon and Chungbuk, 2 each in Jeonbuk, Jeonnam, and Jeju, and 1 in Gwangju, totaling 88 cases (25.0%).
The final count expected to be compiled by midnight is anticipated to reach around 400 cases. However, since it is Saturday, the number of COVID-19 diagnostic tests tends to decrease on weekends, so the increase in confirmed cases may fall short of expectations.
