Today (the 19th), the law firm One & Partners, representing A, announced that on the 18th they filed a complaint against the YouTube channel 'Shinuihansu' officials for violations of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc., and defamation. They proceeded with the complaint based on 28 out of 39 defamation-related videos posted on the channel, and the complaint was sent by mail to the Cyber Investigation Unit of the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency.
Additionally, One & Partners revealed that they are preparing a complaint against another YouTube channel, 'KimwoongTV.' Furthermore, as of 3 p.m. on the 18th, One & Partners explained that they have secured video materials from about 150 YouTubers. The total number of video files is 5,822, with an estimated total length of about 1,000 hours.
They have received over 2,100 tip emails and more than 1,100 emails requesting leniency. In response, One & Partners stated that they plan to additionally sue online cafe operators and malicious commenters. They mentioned, "The receipt of emails requesting leniency is decreasing," and "It seems that almost everyone who could send such emails has already done so." They also explained, "Starting next week or the week after, we will actively proceed with lawsuits against malicious commenters."
