The Busan Yangsan Branch of the Korean Metal Workers' Union held a press conference on the afternoon of the 16th in front of the Renault Samsung Motors Busan Plant, demanding, "Withdraw the unfair disciplinary actions and unjust lawsuits that suppress union activities."
According to them, on the 11th, during the workplace lockout period, a union official of the Metal Workers' Union Renault Samsung Motors Branch was disciplined for union members conducting a picket campaign. They claimed, "The management suppressed the union through an aggressive workplace lockout and falsely portrayed routine union activities during the lockout period as illegal."

The union stated that the management filed a lawsuit against the union official, considering the picket campaign as obstruction of business. They said, "Contrary to management's claims, the union official did not even participate in the campaign, so this is a case of repeated false accusations." They added, "This is an unfair labor practice with a high possibility of management interference that suppresses union activities and intimidates officials."
