View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Yoon Jamin] Around 4:20 PM on the 9th, a five-story building under demolition in the Hakdong redevelopment area of Dong-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, collapsed and crushed a city bus passing by on the road.
Contrary to initial reports, two passenger cars stopped just before the collapse and were confirmed not to be buried.
So far, eight people have been rescued, and four people are trapped inside the buried city bus. The survival status of the four is unknown.
All eight rescued individuals are seriously or moderately injured.
At the time, demolition work was being carried out on the fifth floor using heavy equipment, with a total of four workers (two inside the building and two outside) present.
When abnormal signs such as sounds occurred just before the collapse, the workers evacuated.
It was reported that no citizens were passing by the bus stop and sidewalk directly in front.

Currently, the fire department and related agencies are conducting rescue operations with 425 personnel and 63 pieces of equipment deployed.
