View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Heeyoon] The Korea Management Innovation Small and Medium Business Association (MainBiz Association) announced on the 9th that it held a meeting to establish a cooperative relationship with the Technology and Information Promotion Agency for SMEs (TIPA).
The meeting was organized for TIPA President Lee Jaehong to listen to the on-site difficulties of MainBiz companies, which are the main drivers of innovative growth in SMEs, and to seek improvement measures.
The main agenda items included ▲ improvement of smart service support projects ▲ spreading ESG management culture among SMEs ▲ establishing an efficient cooperation system for regional projects. In particular, various opinions were exchanged regarding R&D support for MainBiz companies and the establishment of an institutional foundation for SME management innovation.
Seok Yongchan, president of the MainBiz Association, said, “Compared to Germany, the United States, and Japan, the proportion of medium-sized enterprises (with sales of 12 billion KRW or more based on major manufacturing industries), which play a central role, is significantly low in Korea. We hope that growth ladder policies will be established so that SMEs can scale up to mid-sized companies through mutually complementary support for management innovation and technological innovation.”
