Park Yong-jin Surpasses Jeong Se-gyun to Rank 3rd in Ruling Party Presidential Approval Ratings
[Asia Economy Reporter Koo Chae-eun] In a preference poll for the Democratic Party's presidential candidate, Democratic Party lawmaker Park Yong-jin ranked third, following Gyeonggi Province Governor Lee Jae-myung and former Democratic Party leader Lee Nak-yeon.
Within the margin of error, Park surpassed former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun to claim third place. This appears to be influenced by the overall rise in preference for young political leaders following the opposition party's 'Lee Jun-seok phenomenon.' Park, a two-term lawmaker born in 1971, is the youngest among the Democratic Party's presidential contenders.
According to data released on the 9th from a survey conducted by Hangil Research at the request of Cookie News from the 5th to the 7th, targeting 1,001 men and women nationwide aged 18 and older, 28.9% of respondents chose Governor Lee Jae-myung, followed by former leader Lee Nak-yeon at 11.5%.
Lawmaker Park Yong-jin recorded 5.3%. Former Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun, who had consistently held third place in various polls, along with former Minister of Justice Choo Mi-ae, each received 4.6%, pushing them to the fourth rank.
