View original imageOn the 9th, Kang Il-gu, head of the Anti-Corruption and Public Crime Investigation Unit, announced the results of the fact-finding investigation regarding the assault on a taxi driver by former Deputy Minister of Justice Lee Yong-gu at the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency in Naejadong, Jongno-gu, Seoul. After more than four months of investigation, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency’s fact-finding team decided to refer former Deputy Minister Lee to the prosecution on charges of instructing evidence destruction for demanding the deletion of the black box footage after assaulting the taxi driver. Officer A, who was in charge of the case, will be referred to the prosecution on charges of dereliction of duty, and the head of the criminal division and the team leader will be submitted to a police investigation review committee involving external experts.
