[Asia Economy Reporter Seungjin Lee] Starbucks is significantly expanding its delivery stores.
According to Starbucks Korea on the 9th, delivery services will be expanded to over 120 stores in the metropolitan area by June.
Starbucks had been piloting delivery services at five stores since last year.
Then, starting from one store on the 3rd and expanding to 19 stores on the 8th, Starbucks began full-scale expansion of its delivery service. Including the five stores from the initial pilot, a total of 25 stores had delivery services applied by the 8th.
The stores where delivery service was applied earlier this month include Galleria Palace Branch, Gwanghwamun Post Office Branch, Guro Ace Branch, Gildong Station Branch, Dunchon-dong Branch, Mokdong Omok-ro Branch, and Munjeong Rodeo Branch, expanding delivery service areas to Jongno-gu, Songpa-gu, Guro-gu, Gangdong-gu, Seocho-gu, Jung-gu in Seoul, among others.
Starbucks plans to expand delivery services to 80 to 100 stores, which is 3 to 4 times the current number of delivery stores, in Seoul and Gyeonggi areas by mid-June.
The selection of new delivery stores will be decided after monitoring the operation status of the current 25 delivery stores, considering delivery demand and rider availability.
Delivery orders are only possible through the Starbucks mobile app. The minimum order amount is 15,000 KRW, and the delivery fee is 3,000 KRW.
