"Biohealth Innovation Technologies in the New Normal Era Gathered in One Place"… Bio Korea 2021 Opens
Participation of over 680 companies from 53 countries... Simultaneous online and offline events
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Ji-hee] 'BIO KOREA 2021,' the largest bio industry event in Korea, opened on the 9th.
Marking its 16th edition this year, BIO KOREA has contributed to showcasing the technological level of Korea's pharmaceutical and bio industries and promoting international trade and exchange. This event is held for three days starting today at COEX in Seoul. Programs such as academic events, exhibitions, business forums, investment briefings, and job fairs are held simultaneously both online and offline. The event is expected to attract over 680 companies from 53 countries and more than 20,000 visitors.
This year at BIO KOREA, innovative changes in biohealth industry technologies in the new normal era and the directions to move forward will be examined.
The academic event features over 230 domestic and international biohealth experts from 18 countries as speakers. Presentations and discussions cover a wide range of topics including therapeutic technologies such as immuno-oncology, dementia (Alzheimer's), vaccines, as well as data convergence technologies like digital therapeutics and artificial intelligence (AI), and industry information. With the rapid global development of COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics, current technology trends and issues such as securing safe and effective vaccine development and production technologies, next-generation rapid diagnostic methods, and stepwise development cases of domestic and international COVID-19 therapeutics are discussed, along with strategies for future infectious disease responses.
The exhibition operates themed zones such as the Innovative Startups and Digital Healthcare Pavilion and the COVID-19 Integrated Quarantine Exhibition Pavilion. It provides a comprehensive view of the current state of innovation in Korea's biohealth sector and national efforts to overcome infectious disease crises.
At the business presentation session introducing corporate business and technologies, global companies such as Lonza, Merck, and Boehringer Ingelheim participate to present business cooperation models.
In the investment briefing, representatives from 20 companies including Cellid, Bioneer, Lunit, and Biot Korea will directly participate to introduce recent trends and corporate management strategies and visions in seven fields including COVID-19 vaccines and therapeutics, artificial intelligence (AI), and antibody platforms to investors.
