Attendance at the Graduation Ceremony of the 4th Class of 'Samsung Youth Software Academy' in Yeoksam-dong on the 9th
[Sejong=Asia Economy Reporter Moon Chaeseok] Park Hwajin, Vice Minister of Employment and Labor, participated in the graduation ceremony of the 4th class of Samsung Youth Software Academy (SSAFY), recognized as the top information technology (IT) job training program in Korea, on the 9th to encourage the graduates. The ceremony was held at the SSAFY Multi-Campus Auditorium in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul.
SSAFY is a youth software talent development project conducted by Samsung Electronics as part of its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) management. The program lasts one year, with the first semester focused on learning algorithms and coding, and the second semester dedicated to problem-solving projects to develop practical skills. At the ceremony, one top-performing graduate from each of the four campuses nationwide?Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju, and Gumi?was selected to receive the Minister of Employment and Labor Award. The awardees demonstrated outstanding achievements, including receiving an 'Excellent' evaluation in a project with Samsung Electronics' Network Business Division during the training.

The Ministry of Employment and Labor signed a business agreement with Samsung Electronics in December 2018 to support the employment of graduates. The ministry plans to actively support companies engaged in youth-friendly ESG activities like SSAFY. Vice Minister Park said, "Youth-friendly ESG activities by companies help young people grow, injecting new energy into our economy and enhancing sustainability. The government will actively assist so that companies' efforts bear fruit and expand into broader areas."
