India's Daily New COVID-19 Cases Fall Below 100,000 After Over Two Months
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Byung-hee] Bloomberg reported on the 8th (local time) that the number of new COVID-19 cases in India fell below 100,000 for the first time in over two months.
On that day, Indian authorities announced that the number of new COVID-19 cases was 86,498. This is the lowest number in 66 days and the first time in 63 days that the figure has fallen below 100,000.
The number of deaths was recorded at 2,123, the lowest in 47 days.
The infection rate was 4.62%, remaining below 10% for 15 consecutive days.

India's cumulative number of COVID-19 cases stands at 28,996,473, with a death toll of 351,309.
