On the 5th (Korean time), American ESPN reported, "LaCava appeared at the PGA Champions (Senior) Tour Principal Charity Classic with Couples." LaCava has been Woods’ caddie since 2011, working closely with him for 10 years as a ‘special assistant.’ Woods was unable to participate in tournaments for a while after a car accident in which his vehicle overturned while driving in Los Angeles, California, in February. This time, LaCava temporarily carried Couples’ bag.

Couples and LaCava have a long-standing relationship. LaCava served as Couples’ caddie in 1990 and collaborated on 12 of Couples’ 15 PGA Tour wins. In 1992, they also shared the joy of winning the Masters. However, LaCava clarified that he is only helping Couples temporarily for this week’s tournament and has no plans to caddie for other players. Couples boasted a flawless performance in the first round today, recording 5 birdies without a single bogey. He is tied for 4th place, 2 strokes behind the leader.
