North Korea Shows Interest in Russia's COVID-19 Vaccine 'Sputnik'

View original imageNorth Korea has shown interest in the COVID-19 vaccines developed by Russia, according to major foreign media including the Russian Interfax news agency on the 4th (local time).
A pharmaceutical industry official cited by Interfax mentioned that the Russian vaccines North Korea is interested in are 'Sputnik V' and 'Sputnik Light.'
Sputnik V was developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology under the Russian Ministry of Health. Clinical trials showed it has over 90% effectiveness in preventing COVID-19.

Sputnik Light was also developed by the same institute, and although its effectiveness is about 80%, it requires only a single dose.
