[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo In-ho] Lee In-young, Minister of Unification, stated, "If the 2025 World Golf Championship is held for the first time at Geumgangsan, it will be an important opportunity to send a peace message about the Korean Peninsula to the world once again." This was said during a meeting with Lee Jung-myung, Chairman of the Ananti Group, which participated in the construction of the Geumgangsan golf course, and also Chairman of the Korea Golf Association.
On the 4th, Chairman Lee met Minister Lee at the minister's office in the Government Seoul Office and proposed the '2025 World Golf Championship South-North Joint Hosting Project.' In response, Minister Lee said, "Imagining golf players from around the world gathering under the scenic beauty of Geumgangsan to compete excites me," and emphasized, "We will not hesitate to provide any help, cooperation, and support that we can."
He added, "It could also create a new peace tourism boom on the Korean Peninsula, and the Ministry of Unification is very interested in various aspects."

Chairman Lee emphasized the need to resume dialogue with North Korea, saying, "First, we need to open up dialogue." He also proposed measures such as having North Korean residents who participated in the past construction of the Geumgangsan golf course utilize their previous experience to begin the golf course development.
