Gangbuk-gu, 2021 Village Community Support Project 2nd Public Contest
Up to 1 Million KRW Support for 'Neighbor Making' Category and Up to 500,000 KRW for 'Challenge! Small Group' Category... Applications Accepted via Seoul Village Community Comprehensive Support Center Website Until June 11
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Gangbuk-gu (Mayor Park Gyeom-su) is conducting the second round of the '2021 Village Community Support Project' public contest until June 11, following the first round in January.
'Village community' refers to a network where residents voluntarily gather to consider and solve village issues on their own.
The support areas are divided into two categories: 'Making Neighbors' and 'Challenge! Small Groups.' For the 'Making Neighbors' project, which aims to create new neighbors and form networks, funding of up to 1 million KRW per project is provided. Eligible applicants are groups of three Gangbuk-gu residents who live or have their living base in the same neighborhood.
The 'Challenge! Small Groups' category, which encourages trying various small groups within the village, offers support of up to 500,000 KRW. Any group of three or more people residing, working, or studying in Gangbuk-gu is eligible to apply.
The district has simplified the application documents for the 'Challenge! Small Groups' project to make it easier for residents to participate and start village activities.
Interested groups can submit their applications and forms through the 'Seoul Village Community Comprehensive Support Center' website. Forms can be downloaded from the center's website or the 'News' section of the Gangbuk-gu Office website.
After the application deadline, the district will conduct a review and announce the final results on the Gangbuk-gu Village Autonomy Center website by the end of June. Selected groups will sign agreements in early July and carry out their projects until October, receiving support such as village counseling, accounting and settlement education, and consulting through the 'Gangbuk-gu Village Autonomy Center.'
Mayor Park Gyeom-su of Gangbuk-gu said, "Through this project, we expect to open a communication channel among neighbors, which has been restricted due to COVID-19, and to revitalize the village community. We hope many residents will participate in this project that aims for the prosperous development of the village."
