Emart Offers 10x 'Eco Money' Rewards for Purchasing Over 2,000 Eco-Friendly Certified Products
Simultaneous Environmental Ministry Collaboration Event and Customer Participation Eco-Friendly Campaign Until the 30th
[Asia Economy Reporter Jo In-kyung] Emart will promote eco-friendly consumption to commemorate 'World Environment Day' on the 5th.
Emart announced on the 3rd that it will hold the 'Green Shopping' event until the 30th, where customers can earn 10 times more Eco Money than usual when purchasing over 2,000 eco-friendly certified products including fresh, processed, household, and kitchen items sold at nationwide stores and Traders using cards with the 'Green Card' or 'Eco Money' logo. The certification marks that distinguish eco-friendly certified products include nine types: Environmental Label, Environmental Product Declaration, Carbon Footprint, Low Carbon Product, Organic Certification, Pesticide-Free Certification, Low Carbon Agricultural Product Certification, Organic Processed Food Certification, and Excellent Resource Circulation Product.
Customers can accumulate Eco Money equivalent to 15-90% of the product price, and some products also offer up to 50% discount with event cards and Shinsegae Point accumulation discounts, allowing customers practicing eco-friendly consumption to receive the greatest benefits of the year.
Eco Money can be accumulated up to 10,000 points per Green Card during the event period and will be credited collectively at the end of the following month after the event ends. The accumulated Eco Money can also be exchanged for Shinsegae gift certificates. For example, purchasing the representative product 'Low Carbon Certified Apples (4-7 pieces)' priced at 9,900 KRW will earn 9,000 KRW worth of Eco Money, and 'Low Carbon Certified House Tangerines (7,980 KRW)' will earn 7,900 KRW worth of Eco Money.
From the 4th to the 25th, the 'Plogging in Daily Life' campaign will be held through Emart’s official Instagram (emartstore), where a total of 200 teams (400 people) will be selected by lottery to receive two sets each of kits composed of upcycled clips made from recycled plastic materials, clip bags, mesh nets, masks, gloves, and Downy foam-type laundry detergent.
To commemorate surpassing 100 million paper receipt reductions, a promotion consisting of watching mobile receipt promotional videos and quiz events will be held until the 18th. Since its launch in 2017, the Emart mobile receipt campaign currently has 2.8 million participants. Assuming each saved receipt is 20 cm long, the total length would circle the Earth halfway, which according to the Ministry of Environment’s calculation standards, corresponds to a reduction of approximately 178 tons of greenhouse gas emissions.
