[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] The National Intelligence Service (NIS) announced on the 2nd that it has simplified and renewed its emblem to mark the 60th anniversary of its founding and the first year of the full revision and implementation of the National Intelligence Service Act.
The new emblem simplifies the previous images, which included the Blue Dragon, White Tiger, Taeguk pattern, and torch, into a single "star-shaped compass."

The NIS explained, "The star-shaped compass symbolizes the NIS's role in presenting the nation's prosperity and future. It reflects the commitment of each employee to work as a compass, and together, these compasses become 'nameless stars that illuminate the night sky.'"
