The Regional-Linked Advanced CT Demonstration Project aims to enhance the competitiveness of local festivals by integrating cutting-edge technology with online platforms, and to foster an R&D ecosystem for festival technology.
Previously, the county, the Jeonbuk Content Convergence Promotion Agency Foundation, and the Gochang Moyangseong Preservation Society held preliminary consultations to establish a customized advanced technology development project plan for Moyangseongje. Leading domestic cultural content institutions such as the Korea Electronics Technology Institute, Seokyeong University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, Easyword Co., Ltd., and Banker Co., Ltd. participated as joint research institutions.
From this year through 2023 (three years), the project will receive 4.8 billion KRW in national funding, 1.7 billion KRW from the provincial government, and 600 million KRW from participating companies to develop an integrated festival management platform service technology, which will be officially launched starting in 2024.
The main projects include ▲One-pass integrated reservation system ▲Extended reality telescope immersive content ▲Moyangseongje online virtual experience ▲Metaverse for festival information provision ▲Dapseongnori and Ganggangsullae: real-time mapping using aerial screens ▲Outer fortress walls of Gochang Eupseong: creative dance and media art ▲Metaverse mobile augmented reality services around the Gochang Eupseong fortress walls.
The county expects that being selected for this contest at this critical time will provide an opportunity to promote the ‘Moyangseongje,’ the oldest folk festival in the country, more quickly and stably than other regional festivals both online and offline.
