According to the county on the 1st, in the evaluation of pledge fulfillment by local government heads nationwide during the 7th term of elected officials announced by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, Governor Shin Woo-cheol received the highest grade along with the heads of four other cities and counties in Jeollanam-do, including Yeosu, Naju, Goheung, and Haenam.
The evaluation was conducted in five areas as of the end of December last year: pledge fulfillment completion, pledge goal achievement, resident communication, web communication, and pledge consistency. The results were divided into five grades from the highest grade SA to grade D.
Governor Shin received consistently high evaluations across all five areas, especially earning high scores in the resident communication area by opening a pledge map on the Wando-gun homepage that clearly organizes the status of pledge projects.
In the pledge fulfillment area, among 51 pledges, 18 projects including the promotion of the marine healing industry, construction of a seafood export logistics center, and acquisition of the Blue Flag international certification for Sinji Myeongsashipri were evaluated as completed or continuously promoted after fulfillment.
In the goal achievement area, 33 projects such as the construction of the Gwangju-Wando expressway, the Geumil-Yaksan connecting bridge project, the 2022 Wando International Seaweed Expo, and the activation of tourism resources in the Gogeum historical space were evaluated as being normally promoted according to the annual budget securing plan.
Among the 70 cities, counties, and districts nationwide that received the highest grade in this evaluation, only 12 were at the county level, highlighting Governor Shin’s work execution ability and pledge reliability more than ever.
Wando-gun has continuously held quarterly pledge progress reporting meetings and self-fulfillment evaluations to fulfill pledges, and paid special attention to pledge promotion by introducing a ‘Pledge Evaluation Resident Jury’.
