Barugesalgi Movement Pohang City Association Holds Nation's First 'University Student Volunteer Corps' Launch Ceremony
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] The Youth Association of the Barun Living Movement Pohang City Council (President Ryu Gwang-hoon) held a launching ceremony for the university student volunteer group on the 29th, and then carried out environmental cleanup activities around the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Cultural Center together with Pohang Mayor Lee Kang-deok and others who attended the event.
The university student volunteer group of the Barun Living Movement Pohang City Council, which was the first to be established nationwide, saw many university students participate in recruitment, contrary to concerns that the number of recruits might be low due to COVID-19.
The launching ceremony was held with the participation of the university student volunteer group, members of the Barun Living Movement Pohang City Council main body (President Joo Ji-hong), and Youth Association members, while adhering to social distancing guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The newly established university student volunteer group, composed of local university students, plans to conduct integrated volunteer activities with the Youth Association, support self-planned volunteer activities by the university student volunteer group, and provide experiences related to employment activities in the future.
