Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, Awards 4 Million Won as Marriage Congratulatory Money
Military Increases Support Program Amount from 3 Million Won through Revision
[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeollanam-do, has revised its marriage congratulatory fund support system and will provide a total of 4 million won in congratulatory money to newlyweds starting from July 1.
Until now, Jangseong-gun has paid 3 million won in marriage congratulatory funds in three installments of 1 million won each. After this revision, applicants for the marriage congratulatory fund can receive a total of 4 million won: 2 million won in the first installment, and 1 million won each in the second and third installments.
The eligibility criteria are ▲ at least one spouse must be under 49 years old as of the marriage registration date and be a first-time newlywed ▲ at least one spouse must have continuously resided in Jeollanam-do for one year (6 months in Jangseong-gun) as of the marriage registration date ▲ both spouses must continue to reside in Jangseong-gun when applying for the marriage congratulatory fund.
To apply, couples must visit the administrative welfare center of their local eup or myeon after six months from the marriage registration date to submit their application.

Yoo Doo-seok, the mayor of Jangseong-gun, stated, “We decided to increase the marriage congratulatory fund to support newlyweds in settling stably in the region,” adding, “We hope this will also contribute to overcoming low birth rates and revitalizing the local economy.”
