A rally demanding a thorough investigation into the case of the late Son Jeong-min, who went missing and was later found dead at Seoul Hangang Park, was held on the 29th.
Members of the Naver cafe "Banpo Hangang Park Truth Seekers (Banjinsa)" held a rally near the Express Bus Terminal Station in Seocho-gu, Seoul, at 6 p.m. that day, urging witnesses from the day of the incident to actively come forward with information.
On this day, Banjinsa stated, "Currently, the police are analyzing 126 nearby CCTVs where the disappearance occurred and black box footage from vehicles that entered Hangang Park at the time, but it seems they are facing significant difficulties in reconstructing the events of that day."
They continued, "We, Banjinsa, have gathered with the hope of finding even the smallest clue to the truth that the police might have missed. If anyone witnessed a male student wearing a baseball jumper and shorts (Son’s friend A) at Banpo Hangang Park between midnight and 6 a.m. on April 25, or has black box footage from a vehicle parked near the rabbit hole or CCTV videos, please report to us," they urged.
They added, "Even if you have already submitted evidence to the police, there is a possibility it might have been overlooked, so we will verify it ourselves. If new evidence emerges, we will immediately share it with the Seocho Police Station currently investigating the case."
Despite the rainy and gloomy weather that day, about 150 citizens, including Banjinsa members, gathered, showing strong interest in the case. Especially, videos by YouTubers questioning the circumstances of the deceased’s death were continuously broadcast on a large screen installed at the rally site.
Meanwhile, Son Jeong-min, who went missing after drinking with his friend A at Banpo Hangang Park last month and falling asleep, was found dead underwater in the Hangang River five days after his disappearance, on the 30th.
