Gunwi-gun, Sanseong-myeon Spring Farming Season Rural Labor Assistance
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Jae-ho] Gunwi County announced on the 28th that the employees of Sanseong-myeon Office held a rural labor assistance event during the busiest farming season.
Eleven employees, including myeonjang Kim Dong-ryeol, visited a garlic farm in Muam 1-ri, Sanseong-myeon, which has been struggling with labor shortages due to long-term COVID-19 impacts on agricultural workforce supply. They worked hard on tasks such as pulling garlic scapes from about 2,000㎡ of garlic fields.
Jang Gwang-ik of Muam 1-ri expressed gratitude, saying, "It was difficult to find labor during the busiest season, so I was very worried. The public officials helping out in the hot weather was a great support."
