The large bus public parking lot project around Nakji Alley is being promoted to resolve the chronic parking shortage in the central intersection of Muan-eup and to provide convenience for large bus tourists visiting Nakji Alley.
The county plans to invest a total project cost of 3.4 billion KRW (including 1.7 billion KRW in national funds) by next year to create a parking lot with a site area of 3,377㎡, and demolition of obstacles has already been completed.
Additionally, a temporary public parking lot will be established next month so that local residents and tourists can use it free of charge until the parking lot construction begins next year.
Once this project is completed, traffic flow around Nakji Alley is expected to improve and accessibility will be enhanced, leading to revitalization effects on the local economy.
Mr. Song, a resident of Manguen, Muan, said, “Whenever I come to Muan-eup to dine with acquaintances, parking space was insufficient and inconvenient, but thanks to the governor’s decision, large parking lots have been secured up to Jungangtong Shopping Street and Nakji Alley, so the inconvenience caused by parking will be reduced in the future.” He added, “I hope Jungangtong Shopping Street and Nakji Alley become more vibrant.”
