CPA Second Exam Competition Rate 3.4 to 1... 3,708 Applicants Registered
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jihwan] The Financial Supervisory Service announced on the 26th that 3,708 candidates applied for this year's second Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam, an increase of 179 (5.1%) compared to last year.
The competition rate is 3.4 to 1 based on the minimum planned number of successful candidates (1,100). Among the applicants, 69.0% were male and 31.0% were female.
The average age of applicants is 27.2 years old. Those in their late 20s accounted for the largest portion at 52.6%, followed by early 20s (13.7%) and early 30s (10.8%).
Applicants currently enrolled in university make up 54.2% of the total. Among them, 75.2% majored in business-related fields.

The second exam will be held on June 26-27. The exam locations and times will be announced on June 3 on the Financial Supervisory Service's CPA exam website and the Financial Services Commission's website. The results will be announced on August 27.
