This training covered the improved step-by-step composition of the regional rescue headquarters, task handling by response teams, and individual duties according to the reorganization of operation personnel, as well as education to prepare for the upcoming summer monsoon and typhoon season.
According to investigation data, in the past three years, 16 typhoons directly affected South Korea, all of which were medium to large-scale typhoons, and the typhoon damage last year was estimated at approximately 1.25 trillion won.
Wando Maritime Police plans to thoroughly implement step-by-step responses to various types of accidents and disaster situations that may occur at sea, as strong typhoons may come again this year, aiming to minimize damage.
