Gwangju University, Recruiting Students for GU Startup Challenge Entrepreneurship Club Participation
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Seon-gang] Gwangju University (President Kim Hyuk-jong) announced on the 24th that it has been selected as the best institution for two consecutive years in the performance evaluation of the Early Startup Package hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development, and is recruiting students to participate in the ‘2021 GU Startup Challenge Startup Club.’
The Gwangju University Startup Support Group plans to support activity expenses for developing startup club items, club rooms, and mentoring by internal and external startup experts through the 2021 Early Startup Package project.
Activity expenses will be provided up to 5 million KRW per team.
The startup clubs will be selected by evaluating the creativity of the items, commercialization potential, differentiated market competitiveness, and willingness to participate in startup activities, selecting more than five teams, and various programs will be prepared to enable successful startups in connection with national startup projects.
The Gwangju University Startup Support Group was selected as the leading institution for the Startup Leading University Development Project in 2017, and has been conducting the project for five consecutive years since the transition to the Early Startup Package in 2019, leading the discovery of technology convergence-type star entrepreneurs.
In particular, it faithfully fulfills the mission of a startup-centered university through internship programs linking promising startup companies and student practical and experiential activities, hosting startup idea competitions, and operating the Gwangju RE Market.
