Convenience Improved with Transfer Discounts for Public Transportation between Changwon and Haman
Starting Development of Transfer Discount System from June, Scheduled for Implementation in November This Year
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Gyeongsangnam-do will sign a business agreement on the 25th to implement a metropolitan public transportation transfer discount system between Changwon and Haman.
This agreement includes cooperation matters such as transfer methods, fare discounts, and cost sharing related to the introduction of the metropolitan transfer discount system between Changwon and Haman.
The metropolitan transfer discount system between Changwon and Haman allows passengers transferring between Changwon city buses and Haman rural (village) buses to receive a transfer discount on the basic bus fare (1,450 KRW).
Since 2008, there has been a consistent demand for the introduction of a transfer discount system between city and rural buses operating between Changwon and Haman due to the high volume of interregional traffic.
Accordingly, starting in June, development of a transportation card transfer payment system for city and rural (village) buses between the regions will commence. The goal is to implement it by November this year.
The province expects that once the metropolitan transfer discount system between the two regions is introduced, regular bus users commuting to and from work or school between the regions will save approximately 63,800 KRW per month on transportation costs.
