Introducing in Underserved Areas and Launching Digital Services for the MZ Generation
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] Shinhan Bank announced on the 24th that it has signed a business agreement with GS Retail to promote innovative financial services through the integration of online and offline channels.
This business agreement was established to discover differentiated innovative financial services through collaboration between leading companies in the finance and distribution sectors, aiming to improve accessibility for financial consumers and expand customer benefits.
Specifically, the two companies plan to jointly pursue ▲ the establishment of future-oriented innovative stores through the integration of online and offline channels ▲ the establishment of processes to provide specialized financial products and services through convenience stores ▲ the development of electronic financial services tailored to the MZ generation.
The future-oriented innovative stores promoted by both companies will be built as specialized spaces combining finance and distribution, enabling financial transactions at GS25 convenience stores nationwide. In particular, these stores are planned to be installed first in underserved and island areas, diversifying customer access points to financial services and improving accessibility for financially vulnerable groups.
A direct sales process for financial products and services targeting GS25 convenience store customers will also be established. The two companies plan to develop specialized products for the MZ generation linking bank and GS25 products and services, and sell them through innovative stores.
Additionally, the two companies have agreed to explore joint entry into the electronic financial business to integrate and utilize financial services and distribution data.
A GS Retail official said, "GS Retail, positioning itself as a lifestyle platform, pursued a partnership with Shinhan Bank, the optimal partner to provide new distribution financial services," adding, "This partnership will be an opportunity to elevate the customer experience of financial consumers in Korea to the next level."
