On the 21st (local time), the UK FTSE 100 index was down 43.94 points (0.63%) from the previous trading day, recording 6975.85 in early trading.
Stock markets in France and Germany showed a simultaneous upward trend. The French CAC40 index rose 16.30 points (0.26%) from the previous trading day to 6359.88, while the German DAX 30 index increased by 14.30 points (0.09%) to trade at 15,384.56.
