Changwon City Establishes Cultural Vision for Communication with Citizens
The 2nd Term Changwon-si New Cultural Policy Promotion Committee Launches
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam, held the 2nd New Cultural Policy Promotion Committee appointment ceremony at City Hall on the 21st.
The New Cultural Policy Promotion Committee is composed of 23 experts in the fields of culture and arts, civic group activists, and local figures.
The city discussed the committee's functions, roles, and operations, including the presentation of appointment certificates to the members.
According to the ordinance, after electing one chairperson and two vice-chairpersons from among the members by vote, Professor Hwang Muhyun of Masan University was elected as chairperson, and Professor Kim Sugyeong of Changwon Munseong University and Chairman Kim Youngjin of the Gyeongnam Composers Association were elected as vice-chairpersons.
The committee reviewed the implementation status of the cultural sector pledges of the 7th local government administration's "People-centered New Changwon."
Subcommittees were formed to provide advice on establishing a five-year (2023?2027) plan for the promotion of culture and arts in Changwon City, with a term of two years.
Additionally, subcommittees for cultural policy development, infrastructure stabilization, and cultural ecosystem revitalization were organized to conduct regular research activities.

Early next year, the committee plans to publish a policy proposal and hold a policy forum to establish cultural policies that communicate with citizens.
