On this day, the committee elected Joo Gang-hong, president of the Korea Federation of Arts and Culture Organizations Jinju Branch, as chairman, and Choi Mi-seon, director of the Jinju Women's Cultural Center, as vice chairman, and began the official review starting with the announcement of the award plan.
As a result of the review, it was decided that candidate recommendations for this year will be accepted from July 24 to August 13 for about three months via visits and mail, and that both individuals and organizations can recommend candidates.
Started in 2001 and now in its 21st year, the Citizen Award is given to recipients who have contributed to enhancing the city's honor and the development of the local community. Even if the candidate is deceased or does not have a registered domicile or address in the city, they are eligible if their achievements are recognized.
Submitted candidates will be reviewed by the recommendation committee and selected as awardees, and the final awardees will be confirmed with the consent of the city council. The award ceremony will be held on October 10, Citizen's Day.
