Changwon-si and Korea Transportation Safety Authority Sign Agreement on City Bus 'Safety Prediction System'
Promotion of Stepwise Expansion Projects After Pilot Project Completion
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Saeyan] Changwon City, Gyeongnam Province, held a signing ceremony on the 20th for participation in a demonstration project to establish a city bus safety monitoring platform.
The main agreement contents include the utilization of a city bus safety prediction system and promotion of the demonstration project, establishment of a system development plan and system development, and securing administration and funding related to system development.
The "Data Flagship Project" promoted by the Korea Transportation Safety Authority addresses the increasing social costs and risks due to inadequate maintenance of city bus vehicles and the accumulation of related accidents.
Taking this agreement as an opportunity, the city will monitor inspection history and vehicle operation pattern data of vehicles in real time and immediately notify in case of abnormal signals. Additionally, a system will be established to perform appropriate inspections and repairs by vehicle system, with monitoring scheduled to be conducted until December.
The Korea Transportation Safety Authority plans to expand the demonstration project results conducted in Changwon City to a nationwide scale, including Gyeongnam Province. The city expects that by establishing the nation's first city bus safety monitoring platform, it will significantly reduce the annual costs related to safety accidents by approximately 515 million KRW.
