Busan City Accelerates Digital Transformation of SMEs with Big Data... Selected for 'Big Data Analysis and Utilization Support Project' Two Years in a Row
Supporting Big Data Analysis and Utilization Tailored to SME Demand, Enhancing Corporate Competitiveness and Creating Business Value
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan City (Mayor Park Hyung-joon) has been selected for the second consecutive year in the ‘Small and Medium Enterprise Big Data Analysis and Utilization Support Project’ hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National Information Society Agency.
This project supports small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that face difficulties in utilizing data due to cost burdens and lack of expertise by linking them with big data specialized companies to provide consulting on big data analysis and utilization across overall business activities such as product development, service planning, and marketing.
Last year, the project was also selected through a public contest, providing consulting support to 25 local companies, and received a high satisfaction score of 4.75 out of 5 from participating companies.
Gu Ja-young, Head of Statistics and Big Data at Busan City, stated that since the project is highly effective for the digital transformation of SMEs, the city is also preparing institutionalization measures at the municipal level.
This year’s consulting project will begin recruiting participating companies at the end of May and will be carried out until the end of the year targeting 30 local companies. Among the participating companies, outstanding companies will be included in a best practice collection, and after evaluation, three companies will be awarded the ‘Busan Mayor’s Award.’
In this year’s project, in addition to linking support with big data specialized companies, upgraded consulting services such as AI algorithm support will be provided in cooperation with the Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Pusan National University.
Mayor Park Hyung-joon of Busan said, “We will create practical support effects such as increased sales and improved recognition for local companies to establish a data economy foundation.”
