According to Daegu City on the 19th, since July 2017, residents of Geomdan-dong, Buk-gu, have been causing noise every morning by playing music and recordings of rallies through loudspeakers installed on unmanned vehicles parked long-term in the parking lot in front of City Hall, related to the construction of the entrance road to the 'Geumho Waterpolis' general industrial complex.
As the rallies have continued for several years, city hall officials recently demanded prompt measures from Daegu City through the 'internal staff bulletin board' regarding the frequent illegal rallies and loudspeaker noise that have crossed the line.
In this regard, the Daegu Public Officials Labor Union (Chairman Jeong Jong-yul) recently met directly with Bae Woo-seop, chairman of the 'Geumho Waterpolis Integrated Countermeasures Committee,' explained the suffering of the staff, and requested that excessive rally noise be prevented.
The recently revised 'Act on Assembly and Demonstration' stipulates that organizers of assemblies and demonstrations must not produce noise through loudspeakers or other means that cause serious harm to others by violating noise standards prescribed by Presidential Decree.
