[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyung-min] On the 41st anniversary of the May 18 Democratic Uprising on the 18th, Park Beom-gye, Minister of Justice, said, "I hope the truth that has not yet been revealed in the court of history will come to light."
Minister Park attended the May 18 Democratic Uprising memorial ceremony held in Gwangju that day and posted this message along with commemorative photos on his social networking service (SNS).
He said, "May Gwangju was about human rights. People's lives and bodies were denied by state power," adding, "I remember the history of being slandered as rioters and illegal elements for a very long time. It took a long time for the truth to be recognized as the truth."
