Gochang-gun Introduces COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Diagnostic Test Kits
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Gochang-gun, Jeonbuk (Governor Yu Gi-sang) announced on the 18th that it will conduct rapid antigen self-diagnostic tests for the elderly, who are relatively vulnerable to infection, to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
The rapid antigen diagnostic test kits are intended especially for elderly people who are relatively vulnerable to infection and whose children living in other regions such as Seoul or Gyeonggi-do visit their hometown and then show suspected symptoms of COVID-19 infection. They can visit a nearby public health center or health clinic to get tested.
The rapid antigen test involves placing a specimen collected from inside the nose onto the kit to check for positive or negative results. Infection status can be confirmed within 15 to 30 minutes, enabling infectious disease response within minimized movement paths.
If two red lines appear on the kit, it indicates a positive result. In this case, you must first contact the public health center by phone and then visit a screening clinic to undergo a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
