"Except for the land involved in preferential treatment controversy, let's create a 'Healing Forest'” Busan Gijang-gun and resident representatives appeal to the council
Excluding Chairman Kim Daegun's Family Land from Janganeup Healing Forest Project Site Plan
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Busan Gijang-gun has decided to exclude the land owned by Chairman Kim Dae-gun of the Gijang-gun Council and his family from the planned site for the ‘Healing Forest’ to be created in the Myeongrye-ri area of Jangan-eup.
Gijang-gun announced on the 18th that this policy was established following requests from Chairman Kim and representatives of Jangan-eup residents.
It is known that resident representatives, including the Jangan-eup Development Committee and the Residents’ Autonomy Committee, proposed on the 17th to exclude the land owned by Chairman Kim’s family, which has recently been controversial, from the project site related to the Jangan-eup Healing Forest creation project.
The resident representatives strongly demanded that the Jangan-eup Healing Forest creation project, which embodies the wishes of Jangan-eup residents, must be carried out.
They proposed to promptly proceed with the project excluding the Chairman’s family land, which has been controversial as it is located near the project site.
Chairman Kim Dae-gun also requested that his family’s land be excluded from the project site to ensure the smooth progress of the Jangan-eup Healing Forest creation project.
Mayor Oh Gyu-seok of Gijang-gun immediately accepted this, and the responsible department sent an official letter containing Gijang-gun’s position to the Gijang-gun Council on the 17th.
Mayor Oh Gyu-seok said, “When creating the Healing Forest, we will exclude the Chairman’s family land and establish a plan to secure an access road. Now that the controversy has been resolved, we will proceed with the Healing Forest creation project, which is a long-cherished project of Gijang-gun.”
