Suncheon-si Promotes Joint Safety Inspections to Prevent Industrial Accidents

[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Hyung-kwon] Suncheon City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Heo Seok) announced on the 17th that it will conduct inspections on safety management practices focusing on workplaces vulnerable to safety accidents from the 20th to the 28th to prevent industrial site accidents.
The city will form a joint inspection team of 19 members in 3 groups, including Suncheon City officials, labor inspectors from the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and experts from the Korea Occupational Safety and Health Agency, to comprehensively guide and inspect safety measures at major hazardous facilities such as construction sites, manufacturing sites, and waste disposal sites.
In particular, the inspection will focus on whether preventive facilities are installed for risk situations mainly occurring at industrial sites, such as falls, collapses, and entrapments. Minor issues found during the inspection will be immediately corrected on-site, and serious violations will be strictly dealt with through fines or prosecution to prevent industrial accidents.
Additionally, the city plans to conduct educational activities by distributing promotional leaflets to all businesses in the jurisdiction.
