View original image[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Oh Hwan-joo] Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Kim San) announced on the 17th that the Namak COVID-19 Vaccination Center received approval for opening from the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency on the 6th and started administering the Pfizer vaccine to seniors aged 75 and older from the 12th.
This is the second vaccination center following the Muan Vaccination Center, established to improve accessibility and convenience for residents of Samhyang-eup and Illo-eup, and is fully funded and operated by the county government.
The COVID-19 vaccination center, set up at the Namak Multipurpose Sports Complex, plans to vaccinate 1,859 seniors aged 75 and older in May. On the 12th and 13th, 958 recipients from Illo-eup completed their vaccinations, and on the 19th and 20th, 907 recipients from Samhyang-eup are scheduled to be vaccinated. From July, full vaccinations will begin for residents aged 19 to under 60.
Governor Kim San stated, “We are making every effort to ensure that residents can receive vaccinations quickly and conveniently by adding the Namak Vaccination Center,” and added, “Vaccination is the most effective measure to reduce COVID-19 infections and mortality among the elderly, so we ask all residents to actively participate in vaccination.”

Since March, 10,878 people have received COVID-19 vaccinations in Muan-gun. The vaccination rate is 15.5% (based on the first dose), compared to the target of 70,068 people, showing a higher vaccination rate than the national average of 7.2%.
