[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) is operating a ‘Youth 3D Printing Club’ to nurture future creative science talents and is recruiting 20 participants until the 24th.
This Youth 3D Printing Club will be based at Geumcheon Smart Cube (Geumcheon Science Center) and will participate in each session’s ▲3D printer practice ▲advanced 3D modeling education ▲team project curriculum.
In particular, through the team project, participants will carry out an autonomous project process including ▲selecting the development product ▲deciding product functions and design ▲preparing the budget plan ▲getting ready for the product presentation, allowing them to experience the process of new product development in companies.
Additionally, to make the club activities enjoyable for youth, various and interesting external activities are planned such as participating in local science events and exhibition tours, exploring G-Valley companies, and experiencing digital equipment.
The district will strengthen expertise by recruiting current professionals as main instructors for efficient learning by youth, and will support the use of one 3D printer and one laptop per person.
Applicants must be youth born between 2007 and 2010 who reside or attend school in Geumcheon-gu. Those wishing to participate should submit an application form by May 24 via email (eunok09@geumcheon.go.kr) or by visiting Lecture Room 4 at the Geumcheon-gu Lifelong Learning Center.
The application form can be downloaded from the Geumcheon-gu website.
Mayor Yu Seong-hoon said, “I hope that through this club activity, participants will grow into true creative science leaders who will lead the 4th Industrial Revolution era,” and added, “We will continue to strive to nurture creative science talents in the region.”
