Opposition: "Park Jun-young's Resignation, Inevitable... Im Hye-sook and Noh Hyung-wook Must Also Make a Decision"
[Asia Economy Reporter Naju-seok] On the 13th, the People Power Party described the resignation of Park Jun-young, the nominee for Minister of Oceans and Fisheries, as "sapilgwijeong (事必歸正, justice will prevail)." The party also urged the nominees for Minister of Science and ICT, Lim Hye-sook, and Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Noh Hyung-wook, to make a decision.
Bae Jun-young, spokesperson for the People Power Party, said regarding Park's resignation announcement, "It is natural for a public office nominee who caused concern to the people due to inappropriate behavior to reflect and step down voluntarily. This resignation should have happened earlier, and before the resignation, the Blue House should not have presented an unqualified nominee to the public."
Spokesperson Bae added, "The Blue House, which caused wounds and confusion to the people for nearly a month after the nomination, should apologize. Above all, as repeatedly stated, a ministerial position is not something to be bargained for like a neighborhood corner store."
