Samsung Electronics and LG Group Guarantee Vaccine Leave for Employees
[Asia Economy Reporter Ji-hwan Park] Following Samsung Electronics, LG Group has also decided to guarantee paid leave for all employees receiving the COVID-19 vaccine.
According to industry sources on the 12th, Samsung Electronics announced the vaccine leave policy through the company bulletin board on the same day.
All employees receiving the vaccine are guaranteed one day of paid leave on the day of vaccination. If there are adverse reactions, employees can use up to two days of paid leave (based on the vaccination day) without requiring medical certificates or other proof.
On the same day, LG Group also decided to introduce a vaccine leave system. This is the first case among major companies where the group as a whole has decided to implement vaccine leave.
LG Group will grant paid leave (gongga) for two days?the day of vaccination and the following day?to all employees of its affiliates, regardless of whether they experience adverse reactions to the vaccine.
