View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Bong-su] The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 11th that the "2021 Korea Nuclear Energy Annual Conference," hosted by the Korea Nuclear Industry Association, will be held for two days from the 11th to the 12th at the Gyeongju Hwabaek Convention Center in Gyeongju, Gyeongbuk, under the theme "Carbon Zero Energy-Nuclear Power Leading Climate Crisis Response."
This event is a gathering of industry, academia, and research sectors in the nuclear field to discuss the development direction of nuclear technology and industry through presentations and discussions on current issues. This year, the focus will be on the role of nuclear power in responding to the climate crisis, discussing future energy strategies, nuclear innovation technologies, research and development of small and medium-sized reactors, export support directions, and the path the nuclear sector should take.
At the same time, the "2021 International Nuclear Energy Industry Exhibition" will also be held. Covering all areas of nuclear power including nuclear power plant design, safety, equipment, fuel, decommissioning, radioactive waste treatment, and radiation medicine, 35 domestic and international companies such as Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power, KEPCO KPS, Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Korea Radioactive Waste Agency, Westinghouse, Framatome, and Orano will open about 70 booths to showcase new technologies and products. Side events such as a job fair in the nuclear utilization field, power and nuclear equipment purchasing consultations, overseas export consultations for small and medium enterprises, and a win-win growth project briefing will also be held.
