[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] On the 8th, Minister of Health and Welfare Kwon Deok-cheol visited the Premium Daycare Center located in Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi Province, to mark Parents' Day. At the site, Minister Kwon urged people to adhere to basic quarantine rules even after receiving the vaccine.
Following the implementation of the 'Minister Responsibility System,' where ministers directly inspect quarantine conditions at facilities under their jurisdiction and immediately improve any deficiencies, Minister Kwon visited a day and night care facility for the elderly on this day.
Minister Kwon stated, "Thanks to the active quarantine efforts and vaccination participation of facility workers and users, the trend of group infections within facilities is decreasing."
However, he added, "There have been cases of group infections occurring within facilities after recent vaccinations but before antibodies have formed," and urged, "Even after completing vaccination, please comply with basic quarantine rules such as wearing masks, social distancing, and following visitation guidelines."
