Jinju City Association Joins COVID-19 Prevention 'Pause for a Moment' Campaign
Volunteer Group Council, Women’s Group Council, Korea Women’s Association Jinju Branch ‘Stop Starting with Me’
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] The Volunteer Organizations Council of Jinju City, Gyeongnam, and the Korean Women's Association Jinju Branch of the Women's Organizations Council have been conducting the "Jinju Citizens Pause Campaign" to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) since April 23.
This campaign involved the participation of presidents and executives from a total of 51 organizations affiliated with the council, appealing for active participation not only from their members but also from all citizens in 20 locations across four districts within the city under the slogan "Jinju Citizens Pause."
Additionally, banners with the slogan "COVID-19, It Can Only Stop If I Stop First" have been installed, and various methods such as using SNS group chat rooms are being employed to promote the campaign to citizens.
Bang Man-hyeok, president of the Jinju Volunteer Organizations Council, and Jeong Gye-seon, president of the Jinju Women's Organizations Council, who participated in the campaign, stated, "To overcome COVID-19, there is no separate subject for quarantine; it starts with ourselves pausing. All members of Jinju city organizations will participate in the 'Pause' campaign and do their best to block the virus."
