View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Song Seung-seop] Shinhan Central Association and Jeonju City are joining forces to create a global Hanji city.
On the 4th, Shinhan Central Association announced that it signed a 'Business Agreement for the Inheritance and Development of Traditional Hanji and the Establishment of a Global Hanji Industry City Foundation' with Jeonju City at the end of last month.
According to the agreement, Shinhan and Jeonju will cooperate in ▲ restoring Jeonju traditional Hanji and fostering successors to establish an inheritance foundation ▲ establishing a production and ecological cultural experience base for mulberry trees ▲ creating Jeonju Hanji Village as a cultural hub including Hanji workshop villages ▲ expanding Hanji demand and establishing a support foundation for the Hanji industry.
Since December 2018, Shinhan has been providing various supports after signing a 'Business Agreement for the Revitalization of Jeonju Traditional Hanji' with Jeonju City.

Kim Yoon-sik, President of Shinhan Central Association, emphasized, “We will take the lead in globally promoting Jeonju Hanji to showcase its excellence worldwide and revitalize the local economy. Through regional specialized projects, part of Shinhan’s 7th inclusive finance project, we will strengthen the region’s self-sustaining foundation.”
