After undergoing initial operation processes in an orbit at an altitude of 497.8 km, it is scheduled to provide standard image products to users in full scale starting from October. The optical payload (camera) equipped on the Next-Generation Medium-Sized Satellite 1 features high performance with a resolution of 0.5 m in black and white, 2.0 m in color, and a shooting range of 12 km.
Until recently, all functional tests on the satellite body and payload have been completed, and test images have been captured to begin verification and calibration work, preparing for the satellite’s normal operation.
The satellite images of the Next-Generation Medium-Sized Satellite 1, publicly released for the first time this time, demonstrated excellent performance, clearly capturing the Seoul Jamsil Sports Complex. The quality is expected to improve further through the verification and calibration process.
